DAY 1 – AIRPORT/HABARANA

Upon arrival, you will be met and greeted by your chauffeur/guide from Barefoot Lanka Holidays. You will then be transferred to your chosen accommodation in Habarana. Rest and recover after your flight, preparing for the amazing journey ahead.

DAY 2 – HABARANA/TRINCOMALEE

After breakfast, transfer to Trincomalee. En route, visit the Minneriya National Park. The park’s centrepiece is the Minneriya Tank, a vast reservoir that attracts large herds of wild elephants year-round. Peaking in August and September when water elsewhere dries up, the tank attracts over 200-300 elephants from the neighbouring forests. This annual event, known as “The Gathering", is regarded as the largest wild elephant gathering in the world. Hop on a jeep and embark on a wildlife safari you’ll cherish for life. Proceed to Trinco after the safari. Evening: refresh and relax on the white sandy beach of Trinco.

DAY 3 – TRINCOMALEE

After breakfast enjoy an exciting session of snorkelling at the tranquil Marble Beach of Nilaveli. Swim with the most colourful and beautiful marine life. You may also wish to take a city tour of Trincomalee and visit some of the popular sites such as Fort Fredrick and the Kandaswamy Temple.

DAY 4 – TRINCOMALEE/PASSIKUDAH

After breakfast transfer to Passikudah. Passikudah beach is one of Sri Lanka’s most pristine beaches.

Sip on a cocktail, soak up the sun and spend the rest of the evening leisurely.

DAY 5 – PASSIKUDAH

Full day of relaxation at this beautiful secluded beach.

DAY 6 – PASSIKUDAH/POLONNARUWA

After breakfast transfer to Polonnaruwa. Explore the UNESCO world heritage listed, Ancient city of Pollonnaruwa. This splendid medieval city boasts some of the most magnificent ruins on earth.

Evening; witness the glorious sunset over the Parakrama Samudraya (the largest ancient man-made rainwater reservoir of Sri Lanka).

DAY 7 – POLONNARUWA/SIGIRIYA

After breakfast transfer to Sigiriya and climb the Lion’s Rock fortress of Sigiriya. Built by the ancient King Kashyapa, the Palace at the top of the rock is a feat of impressive ancient engineering and 5th century urban planning. The jaw dropping panoramic views from the top makes it all worth the climb. Return to the Hotel after the climb to refresh and spend the rest of the day leisurely.

DAY 8 – SIGIRIYA/KANDY

After breakfast transfer to Kandy. En route, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. These caves are built at the base of a 150m high rock accessed along a gentle rock slope. The cave temple complex consists of five major caves which contains statues and paintings related to Gautama Budha. After visiting the temple, you will proceed to Kandy. En route visit a spice garden in Matale for a demonstration of Sri Lankan spices, a cooking lesson and enjoy a delicious traditional lunch. Proceed to Kandy. Evening; visit the Dalada Maligawa(Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha) and witness a cultural show performed by colourful traditional dancers.

DAY 9 – KANDY

After an early breakfast visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. These orphaned elephants are taken in for a river bath twice daily by their human foster fathers. Interact with these gentle giants during their regulated bathing sessions and bottle feed the little jumbos. Return to Kandy and visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. Sri Lanka’s largest and the most elegant garden spread over 147 acres of land consisting of more than 4000 different species of plants and trees. Evening, refresh and relax in the hotel.

DAY 10 – KANDY/NUWARA ELIYA

After breakfast prepare for an amazing Train journey from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. This exhilarating train journey will take you through lush green tea plantations surrounded by breathtaking views of misty mountain ranges and waterfalls. Your chauffeur will pick you up from the Nanu Oya train station and transfer you to your Hotel in Nuwara Eliya. Evening, you may also visit the Hakgala Botanical Gardens and the Gregory Lake of Nuwara Eliya.

DAY 11 – NUWARA ELIYA/HAPUTALE

After breakfast transfer to Haputale. You would reach Haputale via Horton Plains National Park which is a protected area situated in the central highlands. This is an amazing drive through a park which is rich in biodiversity and home to many species’ endemic to the region. The windy ascend to the plateau is surrounded by stunning sceneries. Proceed to Haputale and check into your hotel. Evening visit the Diyaluma Waterfall.

DAY 12 – HAPUTALE/COLOMBO

Rise early and take an amazing drive through tea plantations to reach Lipton’s Seat. Be enthralled by the glorious sunrise and capture some amazing pictures of the stunning scenery. Stop by the Dambatenne Tea Factory for a demonstration of tea manufacturing and enjoy a hot cup of Ceylon’s finest tea. Return to the Hotel for breakfast then transfer to Colombo.

DAY 13 – COLOMBO

After breakfast take a city tour of Sri Lanka’s commercial capital – Colombo. Visit some of the most significant places of Sri Lanka, such as the Independence Square, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall and the Gangaramaya Temple. In the evening, visit the Old Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct. Then head to Mt Lavinia for a candle lit dinner by the beach at one of many seafood restaurants. Relax and recall all the beautiful memories of your holiday in Sri Lanka.

DAY 14 – COLOMBO/AIRPORT

Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport – End of Tour.
