DAY 1 – BANDARANAIKE AIRPORT/KANDY

Your chauffeur/guide from Barefoot Lanka Holidays will meet and greet you upon your arrival. You will then be transferred to your chosen accommodation in Kandy. Rest and recover after your flight, preparing for the amazing journey ahead.

DAY 2 – KANDY

After an early breakfast visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. These orphaned elephants are taken in for a river bath twice daily by their human foster fathers. Interact with these gentle giants during their regulated bathing sessions and bottle feed the little jumbos. Return to Kandy. Evening, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha and witness the Kandyan Cultural Show performed by traditional dancers dressed in colourful garments.

DAY 3 – KANDY/SIGIRIYA/WILPATTU

After breakfast transfer to Wilpattu. En route visit the world heritage listed Lion’s Rock fortress of Sigiriya. Built by the ancient King Kashyapa, the Palace at the top of the rock is a feat of impressive ancient engineering and 5th century urban planning. The jaw dropping panoramic views from the top makes it all worth the climb. Proceed to Wilpattu. Evening, rest and relax in the tranquil bush environment of Wilpattu.

DAY 4 – WILPATTU

A comprehensive full-day Jeep safari with a wildlife expert at the Wilpattu National Park. Wilpattu is among the top national parks, world-renowned for its leopard population. The unique feature of this park is the existence of sand-rimmed water basins that fill with rainwater. Wild elephants, sloth bears, leopards, water buffalo, spotted deer, mongoose, and peacocks are some of Wilpattu’s common residents. Evening, rest & relax in the hotel.

DAY 5 – WILPATTU/KALPITIYA

After breakfast transfer to Kalpitiya and spend the day at leisure. Although more renowned for Dolphin watching, Kalpitiya the superstar beach of the western coast, has something for everyone. Adrenalin seekers can enjoy Kite Surfing while the sunbathers may simply curl up in a hammock and sip on a cocktail. Add to all these delicious local cuisine, and fresh seafood.

DAY 6 – KALPITIYA

After breakfast set off on an exhilarating and a memorable Dolphin watching tour. Witness massive pods of dolphins in their natural habitat. Watching the delightful dolphins swimming alongside and diving under your boat, riding waves in perfect synchronization and twirling and leaping out of the water in a joyous display, is a magnificent experience and one that will be cherished for years to come. Return to the hotel. Evening, soak up the sun and recall all the beautiful memories of your holiday in Sri Lanka.
